Goodhope is working with stakeholders in the Nabire region of Papua to establish a ‘Kawasan Ecosystem Essential’ (KEE) across an area of 107,581.66 ha. The KEE is outside of existing conservation areas and has ecologically important values that support biodiversity and the welfare of local communities. A proposal to designate the area as a KEE has been developed in collaboration with our partners, PILI Green Network and IDH Sustainable Trade Initiative. The area spans 9 districts and includes habitat for endemic and endangered species.
