Mr. Hariharan Selvanathan was appointed to the Board on 28th May 2012, as the Deputy Chairman of our Company and was appointed as its Chief Executive Officer with effect from 1st November 2017. He is responsible for the strategic direction and overall management of our business operations. He has over 20 years of experience in commodity trading in the international markets.
Presently, Mr. Selvanathan is the Chairman of Bukit Darah PLC (BDPLC), Deputy Chairman of Carson Cumberbatch PLC (CCPLC) (the ultimate parent companies of GAHL) and some of their subsidiary companies. He also holds concurrent appointments as the Vice Chairman of Ceylon Beverage Holdings PLC and Vice Chairman of Lion Brewery (Ceylon) PLC.
Mr. Selvanathan graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Madras, India.
Mr. Aneesh Dudeja is the President of Goodhope Group. He joined the Group in 2016 and leads the Corporate Strategy, Group Finance and Business Development activities together with responsibility for Accounting, Treasury and Commercial.
Prior to joining Goodhope, he was the Managing Director and Head of Commodity Traders & Agribusiness for Standard Chartered Bank. In his 20-year banking career he has worked in Corporate & Investment Banking in India, Middle East and South East Asia. He started his career with General Electric before he moved into the Banking sector in 1996. He is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
Mr Sanjaya Upasena is the Chief Operating Officer of the Oil Palm Plantations Business Segment in Indonesia. He is responsible for managing the oil palm plantations and its associated operating units in Indonesia.
He joined Carson Cumberbatch PLC in 1999 as a Sector Accountant. Prior to his current role, he functioned as the Deputy Head of Operations, Director of Sustainability, General Manager Plantation Operations and the Regional Financial Controller for the Plantations Sector . He is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, a Fellow Member of the Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), United Kingdom, and a Member of the Chartered Global Management Accountants (CGMA).
Mr Jayaprakash Mathavan is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Edible Oils & Fats Business Segment. He is responsible for overseeing the operations of Goodhope’s edible oils and fats business segment.
He joined the Carson Cumberbatch PLC in 1995 as Sector Accountant for the Plantations Sector, and from 1998 to 2001, functioned as Financial Controller and subsequently Director - Finance of the Group.
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (B. Com) with First Class Honours from the Bharathidasan University, India. He is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of
Management Accountants (CIMA), United Kingdom, a Fellow Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, United Kingdom, and a Member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants.
Mr. Satish Selvanathan is an Executive Director of Goodhope Asia Holdings Ltd, where he is responsible for the turnaround of the business.
Prior to this, he was an ultra-athlete and competed in the Spartan World Championships, a 24-hour Obstacle Course Race in Iceland.
Before this, he was a Director at Creador, a USD 800MM Private Equity fund, where he led the business turnaround of the Asiamet Education Group Bhd, a higher education business in Malaysia as well as the business diligence of Creador’s buyout of the D’Apotic pharmacy chain. Prior to this, he was a Consultant at The Boston Consulting Group in New York, where he worked with financial services, consumer and healthcare clients.
He is a CrossFit Level 1 trainer, has an MBA from Columbia Business School and an undergraduate degree in Engineering, Economics & Management from Oxford University.
Ms. Sharada Selvanathan joined the Goodhope Group in 2011 and is involved in the Group’s Finance and Strategic Planning activities.
She started her career in London as an Economist in the Capital Markets division of BNP Paribas and was with the bank for nearly seven years in its offices in London, Singapore and Hong Kong. She also has a personal interest in the field of education and is a Trustee of the Friends of the University of
Warwick in Singapore Trust.
She obtained her Master of Science and Bachelor of Science Degrees in Economics from the University of Warwick, United Kingdom and an MBA from the International Institute for Management Development (IMD), Lausanne, Switzerland.
Mr. Rizan Jiffrey is the Director Processing Operations and is responsible for ensuring the processing operations of Upstream in Indonesia and Downstream in Malaysia is run efficiently while maximizing extraction rates; yields; and throughput and minimizing losses. He is also a Director of the management services companies of the Group.
He joined Carson Cumberbatch PLC in 2003 as Financial Controller of the Plantations Sector. He previously held managerial and senior managerial level positions in the mercantile sector in national and multinational companies. He is a Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), United Kingdom, and holds a Master of Science Degree in Management from the University of Sri Jayawardenapura, Sri Lanka. He is also a passed finalist of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka and has professional qualifications in marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), United Kingdom, and in information technology from the Australian Computer Society (ACS).
Mr Pakadang is the Head of Tax Administration and Statutory Assurance in Indonesia. He is responsible for tax planning and administration in addition to overlooking local external affairs of the Group's plantations in Indonesia.
He joined Carson Cumberbatch PLC in January 2006 as Head of External Relations for the Plantations Sector. He counts over 23 years of experience, having commenced his career as an Accountant at IBM, Jakarta prior to joining Ernst & Young in Indonesia.
Mr Pakadang is a registered Accountant in Indonesia since 1993, having obtained his Certified Public Accountant (Indonesia) qualification in 2003. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the University of Indonesia and Magister in Business Law from Gajamada University, Indonesia.
Mr Edi Suhardi is Group's Head of Sustainability. He joined Goodhope in 2008 and is responsible for the Group's sustainability framework encompassing corporate social responsibility (CSR), environmental, occupational health and safety (EHS) and the adoption of internationally recognized sustainable palm oil standards in the Group's palm oil business.
His career started in 1988 as government official at the Ministry of Forestry, Indonesia, and from 1991 to 2004, he engaged in a professional career at a consulting firm and in various international not-for-profit organizations. Thereafter, he moved to PT INCO, the largest nickel mining company in Indonesia as Director External Relations.
He obtained his Master of Science in Natural Resources Development and Management at the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand in 1991 and Bachelor of Science in Forestry at the University of Mulawarman, Samarinda, East Kalimantan, Indonesia in 1987.
Mr. Balaji Chandrakumar is the Group Head of Human Resources. He joined the Goodhope Group in 2012 to oversee the Change Management function of the Group and is now responsible for overall Human Resources management and HR Shared Services
He started his career in 1996 and has experience in Sales & Marketing, HR Consulting and in Human Resources in companies in both Mumbai and Chennai, India.
He holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Bharathiar University, India and a Master’s in Human Resource Management from the Pondicherry University, India, a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the Great Lakes Institute of Management, India, and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), United Kingdom.
Mr. Saliya Rodrigo is the Head of Finance for the Plantations Sector. He joined Goodhope in 2007, and is responsible for the Plantation Sector’s finance, financial accounting, and management accounting functions. From 1st January 2018 he has been appointed as the Director of Plantation of Goodhope Asia Holdings (Pvt) Ltd.
He started his career in 2000 as a Financial Auditor with SJMS Associates, a member of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, and left as a Senior Auditor in 2003 to join Brandix Intimate Apparel (Pvt) Ltd where he occupied the posts of Management Accountant and subsequently Senior Management Accountant. In 2006, he joined Favorite Group as the Sector Financial Controller.
Mr. Rodrigo obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree with a Second-Class Upper Division from the University of Sri Jayawardanapura, Sri Lanka in 2002, and became a Member of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka in 2003.
Mr. Thirunavukarasu Illamurugan is the Regional Controller of Goodhope Group’s mature plantations sector. He joined the Group in 2009 and is responsible for the Plantation Operations of the Group in the Central Kalimantan region.
He started his career as an Estate Assistant with Sime Darby Plantations, Malaysia in 1981. He rose up the ranks and was acting in the capacity of Planting Advisor before leaving Sime Darby to join the Goodhope Group.
He obtained his MBA in Total Quality Management in 1998 from the University of Newport, California and attended the Sime Darby Senior Management Program in 2003.
Mr. Vengiddappa Raju Vengidasamy is currently the Regional Controller – New Developments for the Goodhope Group. He has overall responsibility for new development projects and immature plantation zones. He joined the Group in September 2010 as the General Manager for PT Agro Indomas.
He started his career in 1980 with Sime Darby Plantations in Malaysia and moved toIndonesia in 2003 where he worked for Sinarmas Forestry and subsequently PT Rea Kaltim. In 2007, he joined Cargill Temasek Plantations as the General Manager in Papua New Guinea.
Mr. VV Raj holds a Diploma in Agriculture University Pertanian, Malaysia, is an Associate Member of the Incorporated Societ of Planters (AISP) and holds an Executive Masters in Plantations and Estate Management from the Asia e University.
Mr. Rushdi Azeez acts as Head of Finance - Group Finance and joined the Goodhope Group in 2009. He is responsible for Finance functions of the Goodhope Asia Holdings Ltd Company, the Sri Lankan subsidiaries of the Group, Group-level Treasury and Banking operations as well as Financial Reporting at the Group level.
He started his career as a Senior Manager at Ernst & Young, Sri Lanka and then moved to the position of Chief Accountant/Group Budget Controller for the Hayleys Group. He subsequently held the position of the General Manager - International Marketing at Dipped Products PLC (a Hayleys subsidiary), and prior to joining the Goodhope Group was the CEO of Macson Mesh Industries (Pvt) Ltd.
Mr. Azeez is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), United Kingdom and holds an MBA from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka.
